Virginia-Maryland Rescue Systems, Inc.
Virginia-Maryland Rescue Systems, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Ed Cutrell who built the business selling and servicing the Hurst "Jaws of Life" Rescue Tools.
With the addition of rescue rams and large spreaders, Ed saw the need for a device that would provide a "heel for the ram that sticks like tar." The design team at Virginia-Maryland Rescue Systems went to work designing and testing a product that would do the job. The TarHEEL was the first made available in 2000. Early in 2007, the TarHEEL was redesigned to eliminate the need for the C and E blocks to make operation simpler. At the same time, the new adapters were introduced that give a range of motion 86- to 90 degrees. |
