The TarHEEL is a good addition to our crash/rescue truck considering the way cars are being built today. Most of the time, in a side impact collision, the 'B' post takes the blunt of the impact. If a dash roll procedure needs to be done, the 'B' post will not withstand it, and that's when the TarHEEL tool steps in.

On the afternoon of April 16, 2000, we were dispatched to a MVA with a pin in. During the extrication, time was important because our patient had many external injuries and was in critical condition.
